Walter Abbott, son of John Abbott, east of Howard, died in a hospital at Sterling, Kansas, the first of the week and the remains were brought to Howard yesterday evening. Walter had been working in the harvest fields and was stricken with typhoid fever. Obituary next week.

Obituary.

Walter Rollen Abbott was born in Elk Falls, Kansas, March 22, 1884. Died in hospital at Sterling, Kansas, July 27, 1914, aged thirty years, four months and five days.

Some time before his last sickness he would read the Bible and told his sisters he was going to lead a different life. A while before he died he told the nurses at the hospital that he was saved and ready to go.

He leaves a father, mother, one brother and three sisters to mourn his death.

The funeral services were conducted in the Howard Methodist church by the pastor, T.A. Nichols who used the text for the sermon Matt. 20:14 "I will give unto this last even as unto thee."

Interment in Grace Lawn cemetery.
