Miriam D. Hendrix

Miriam D. Hendrix, 56, 705 Eighth Ave., died at her home Sunday following an illness of several months.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Retz Chapel with the Rev. Glenn McKerrow officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Those wishing may send memorial contributions to the Lewis and Clark Co. Cancer Committee.

Mrs. Hendrix was born in Fort Benton, Aug 29, 1918, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thies, native Montanans. She moved to Minneapolis, Minn., as a child and returned to Montana and met her husband, Sidney, whom she married on Nov 30, 1940, in Minneapolis.

The couple lived in California during World War II. They returned to Montana in 1944, and lived in Lincoln until 1954, when they moved to Helena.

Mrs. Hendrix was employed by the Northwestern Bank and Union Trust Company for 29 years.

Survivors include the widower (Helena, MT), two sons; Randy (Anchorage, Alaska), Garry (Great Falls, MT), two sisters; Faith Nixon; (Minneapolis, MN), Martha Ellis (Great Falls, MT), a brother, Fred Thies (Shakopee, MN.), and two grandchildren; Candy and Angie Hendrix (Anchorage, AK.)
