BOOZELL - Susie Marie Boozell, daughter of E. J. and Minnie Relph, was born June 18, 1919, near Russell, Iowa. Although skillful and loving hands of care ministered her needs, she passed away March 1, 1967 at the Yocom hospital at the age of 47 years.
She was united in marriage to Dean Boozell October 12, 1951, and they began farming in the Russell area. It was a disappointment to her that no children were born to this union, but two children, Richard Boozell and June Norberg were reared in the home.
Susie lived her entire life in Lucas county. She attended the Russell High School and Simpson College and taught in rural schools for 15 years before marriage. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Russell Baptist church. At the present time she was a faithful attendant at the Salem Sunday School where she was an adult teacher concerned with the salvation of friends and relatives.
She was ever busy in community activities such as Farm Bureau, Red Cross and Tuberculosis. She will ever be remembered for her many kindnesses, acts of helpfulness, kind words and daily deeds of love. She also found time to be a devoted wife and helpmate to her husband.
Her father preceded her in death. Those surviving her are he husband, Dean; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Relph of Russell and four brothers, George Relph of Russell, Lloyd Relph of Mooresville, Mo., Walter Relph of Russell and Edmund Relph of Cambria; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held March 4, 1967 at 2 p.m., at the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Pastor John Bauserman officiated and interment was in the Chariton cemetery.
