A loving husband, father, uncle, son, brother and friend, he passed away Monday, June 15, 2009. He was 48, an employee of Phillips Seafood, a resident of Bayou Pigeon and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine on Wednesday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Bayou Pigeon on Thursday, June 18, from 8 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Joey Angeles. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Lahoma Ackman Torregrossa; mother, Ann May Torregrossa; two sons, Danny Paul Torregrossa and Blane Joseph Torregrossa; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ann Torregrossa Bourgeois, Mary Torregrossa and James Posey, and Marguerite Torregrossa and Darryl Dozier; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Alfred Robert Torregrossa Jr., George Thomas and Katie Torregrossa, David Powell and Renee Torregrossa, John Edmond and Angie Torregrossa, and Wilba Thompson and Kelle Torregrossa; a sister-in-law, Amanda McAlister and husband Mark; three brothers-in-law, Johnny Ackman and wife Tammy, Michael Ackman and wife Monique, and Dale Ackman and wife Debbie; mother-in-law, Bobbie Ackman; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Robert Torregrossa; father-in-law, Howard Joseph Ackman Sr.; brother-in-law, Howard Joseph Ackman Jr.; and numerous relatives. He was an avid sportsman who loved the great outdoors. He was a devoted husband and father.
