Bettie S. Blount was born near Buchanan, Va., March 5, 1862 and departed this life December 14, 1926 aged 64 years, 9 months and 9 days.

Coming to Kokomo, Ind. she was united in marriage to Chas. W. Allen February 28, 1889. To this union was born three children, James M., Annie I. and Mabel C. Annie I. having died August 10, 1923. Three sisters and three brothers all living in Virginia, a husband, two children, five grand-children survive.

Mrs. Allen was a kind and loving wife and mother and always ready to help those in need. For a number of years she was a member of the United Brethren church east of Bennetts Switch Ind. On January 27, 1924 she united with the Methodist Church at Bunker Hill, Ind.

On December 13, 1926 she suffered a stroke of apoplexy from which she never gained consciousness until the end which came peacefully the following afternoon at 1 o'clock.
