PAUL LOVELACE

Paul Thomas Lovelace, 73, of St. Louis, a former Vandalia resident died Feb. 14, 1991, in Christian Hospital Northeast, St. Louis, as the results of a fall Jan. 31 on the ice.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Waters Funeral Home in Vandalia with the Rev. Robert Hoehn in charge. Musical selections were provided by Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Miller of Curryville. Interment was in Vandalia Cemetery.

Mr. Lovelace was born March 30, 1917, in Gazette in Pike County, the son of Evert and Wilma Floy Trower Lovelace. He was educated in the Vandalia public schools and was a construction carpenter before his retirement.

He is survived by a longtime companion, Mary K. Smith of St. Louis; his mother, Mrs. Wilma Lovelace of Vandalia; two daughters, Doris Rose Hendricks of Montgomery City and Carolyn Sue Moss of Vandalia; one son, Shannon Lovelace of Vandalia; a brother Sherwood Lovelace of Laddonia; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Wanda) Hanson of Curryville and Mrs. Franklin (Shirley) Leadley of Vandalia; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother Lindell Lovelace.

Casket bearers were Daryl, Kevin, and Stanley Lovelace, Kelly and Keith Leadley and Jim Blackwell.
