William Jenkins'War of 1812 Pension Application'

Wilson County, Tenn. 4 Jan 1851: William Jenkins, resident of Wilson County, stated that he was a private in Capt. Temple Smith's Company, in the Ist Regiment, commanded by Capt. A. I Mason. He was drafted at Fairfax County, about I Auaust 1814 for six months. He served six months and was discharged at Baltimore about the last day of January 1815.
4 Apr 1855: Jenkins, 67 years old, said he enlisted at C. Wrenn's, about 28 Aue, 1814, served 27 days. Witness: Samuel Huguely.
2 July 1874: Jemima Jenkins, 81 years, lives near Mt. Juliet, Wilson County, is widow of William. Said her maiden name was Jemima Hugley. She was married I February 1812. Her husband died in Wilson County, 5 May 1855.
13 February 1879: Jemima Jenkins, 86 years, said there is no record of her marriage. Jerre Moore, who married us has long since been dead. Affidavit of her sons Lewis and Sam Jenkins accompanied statement. Her husband's Pocket Hymn Book designed as a Constant Companion for the Pious, Collected from Various Authors, Philadelphia, MDCCXC, has written inside:

31 Jan 1879: Lewis Jenkins, 63 years, and Samuel Jenkins, 54 years (resident of
Nashville) stated they are sons of William Jenkins. Lewis was born in Fairfax County, Samuel in Wilson County, Tenn., his parents having a short time previously removed from Fairfax County to Tenn., "where our mother still lives." Father died May 8, 1855. "We were both at his side and attended his funeral at the Castleman burying ground near his home.
'This information was found in the Fairfax County Circuit Court Archives. It was abstracted from a federal pension, No. WO 10976, WC 22433, ELWT 12476-160-55.

June 2009 - notes collected - his brother may be Charles Tyler Jenkins buried in Fairfax Co Va. Father still not certain as of this writing.
