Nancy Ann Schwanke was born to her loving parents Otto Carl August and Clara Anna Henrietta (Ragotzke) Schwanke on Monday May 12, 1941 at Norfolk, Madison County Nebraska. Nancy was raised on a farm near Creston, Platte County. My research found no information on Nancy's elementary schooling. Nancy graduated from high school in 1959. My family visited her family farm near Creston in the spring of 1960 shortly before her father passed. It was a beautiful sunny day. The family was busy preparing to attend an event that evening. After her father's death Nancy's mother purchased and moved the family to a home on North Lincoln Avenue at Fremont, Dodge County. My family visited their new ranch style house on the east side of at avenue shortly after their move. After that time I lost track of Nancy, I went to serve in the Air Force. Nancy attended Midland College at Fremont, Wayne State College at Wayne, Wayne County, she received her teaching degree from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, Lancaster County. Nancy also studied at the University of Omaha, Douglas County and at Denver University, Denver County Colorado too. Nancy taught at Fremont, Grand Island, Hall County, and Omaha Westside. Nancy was a resident of Fremont the last forty years of her life. Nancy was a member of First Lutheran Church. Sadly Nancy passed on Friday June 12, 2009 at the age of 68 years, 1 month which does not include her last day, she lived a total of 24,868 days. Nancy's closed casket visitation was held at the Ludvigsen Mortuary on Tuesday June 16, 2009 from 3p to 8p with the family receiving friends from 6p to 8p. Nancy's funeral service was held at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel at Fremont on Wednesday June 17, 2009 at 10a with the Rev. Norman Freund officiating. Nancy was interred in the Memorial Cemetery of Fremont. Nancy's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory.
