Glen A. Barngrover, 94, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at his residence. Born Oct. 17, 1914, the son of Arthur and Rose (Nitz) Barngrover.

Glen married Claris German on Oct. 30, 1937. They were married for 71 years.

He was a member of University United Methodist Church and held the position of Trustee.

Glen's favorite pastimes included fishing and camping, more recently participating as a Senior Olympic Bowler.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry and wife, Connie of Springfield, MO, Jerry and wife, Debbie of Wichita, KS, daughter, Donna Jeter of St. Louis, MO; 10 grandchildren: Amy (John) Blakey, Jill (Brad) Reynolds, Jon (Terri) Barngrover, Chris (Marla) Barngrover, Kimberly (Robert) Ross, Jeff Jeter, Julie Jeter, Jenny (Brian) Green, Matt (Allison) Jeter and Mike Jeter; 15 great grandchildren: Kathryn and Rachel Blakey, Kailey and Natalie Reynolds, Evan and Nathan Barngrover, Mary Grace Jeter, Veronica, Kyle and Ashley Barngrover, Elle and Tyson Ross, Kaitlyn, Michael and MaKenzie Green.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Elsie Burroff and Betty Snook.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sat., June 20 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Glen will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
