Eugene H. Robertson, age 92 and formerly of the What Cheer area, died on December 7th, 2006 in Mesa, AZ. Cremation has been accorded and a graveside memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, April 30th at the Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg with Pastor Todd Follette officiating. Harden Funeral Chapel of What Cheer is in charge of arrangements.
Eugene was born on February 2nd, 1914 to James Clyde and Della Harris Robertson. He farmed most of his life in the Barnes City, Tilton and What Cheer areas. On October 12th, 1935, he was married to Bessie Fisher. They moved to Mesa upon his retirement. Bessie preceded him in death. On June 12th, 1974, Eugene married Lucille Todd. She preceded him in death. He married Tillie Lane on July 3rd, 1987 and Tillie also preceded him in death.
Eugene is survived by his three sons; Kenneth and wife Judy of Cedar Rapids, Dale and wife Helen of Memphis, MO and James and wife Stacy of Long Beach, WA; his two daughters, Janice Mitchell of Grinnell and Kay and husband Myrle Bailey of Centerville, OH; fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, a daughter, Beth Ann, a grandson, Duane and a son-in-law, Richard Mitchell.
