OBITUARY:
Lonzo E. Goodin, age 89, of Woodbine, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Oak Tree Hospital.
He was a member of the Corn Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Ida Goodin; three brothers, Amos, A.T. and H.B. Goodin; and one sister, Mossielee Simmons.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Geneva Petrey Goodin; one son, Earl Goodin of Woodbine; one daughter, Anna and James Worley of Corbin; on grandson James P. and Leslie Worley of Lancaster, Ky; six granddaughters, Tina and Lonnie McCoy of Lexington, Tish and Dave Williams of Arlington, Texas, Kelli and Eugene Paul fo Woodbine, Krystal Collett of Woodbine and Tina and Jimmy Walters of Corbin; six great-grandsons, Dylon and Jacob Worley, Mason McCoy, Aaron Williams, Austin Paul and Cody Collett; and six great-granddaughters, Abbey Worley, Adrianna Paul and Jenny Collett, Kristen Carter, Heather and Shelby Walters; three brothers, Coyt and Bonnie Goodin of Waynesboro, Ky., Malcolm and Henretta Goodin of Marburg, Ala., Fessor Goodin of Louisville, Ky.; three sisters, Audie O'nan of Louisville, Ky., Marie Scalf of Cincinnati, Ohio, Imogene Alsip of Cincinnati, Ohio; two special brother-in-laws, Clifford and Clinton Petrey of Woodbine; and a host of other relatives.
Vistiation will be Tuesday, June 24 from 6-9 p.m. at O'Niel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p/m. Wednesday at Corn Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Decker officiating. Burial will follow at the Petrey Family Cemetery adjoining Corn Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Goodin will lie in state at the church from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
