Edwin William "Bill" Gibson, 77, of Convoy, died at 6:43 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2005, at Convoy Care Center, Convoy.
He was born September 20, 1928, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to the late Lola (White) and William F. Gibson. He married Jean M. (Hildbold) on October 15, 1950. She survives in Convoy.
Other survivors include his children Brent A. (Jamie) Gibson of Van Wert, Ohio, Marcia K. (Gary) Drake of Convoy and Karen S. (Mike) McClure of Van Wert; a brother Gary L. (Jayne) Gibson, Sr. of Bluffton, Indiana; seven grandchildren; Jennifer M (Joshua) Drake Finegold, Kent Drake, Andrew Gibson, Ashley and Kade Gibson, Sara and Katherine McClure, and two great-grandchildren, Casey and Riley Finegold.
He was proceeded in death by one son, Bradley M. Gibson.
Mr. Gibson retired in 1982 as chief tool designer from International Harvester Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Convoy, Ohio.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 2 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Convoy. The Rev. Jan Berthinee will officiate. Burial will be in Convoy IOOF Cemetery, Convoy.
Calling is 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to the church.
