Dukes Prairie
Since our last letter to the Democrat, one of our old settlers has passed away, namely, Isaac Davis. He was sick but a short time, being taken sick on Thursday and died on Sunday. Mr. Davis was seventy-three years of age and has spent the most of his life here on the prairie.
He was a soldier in the war of the rebellion. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and eight children and one brother.
The funeral was held at the PM church in Willow Springs, the Rev. Wm. Croft officiating. The G.A.R had charge at the grave.
