LARSEN, Evelyn Egan
born December 22, 1922, peacefully passed away on June 13, 2009, at the age of 86. She was the only daughter of Douglas Ray Egan and Leona Beatrice Stocking. Her brothers Vaughn and Keith Egan reside in Burley, Idaho, the city of her birth. Her brother Blaine preceded her in death. Evelyn married Winston Davis Larsen May 6, 1942 in the LDS temple in Logan, UT. After farming in Burley for 10 years, they moved to Arroyo Grande, CA where Evelyn worked at the Madonna Inn and Winston worked at Union Oil. Their retirement years were spent in Grants Pass, Oregon until Winston's death in 1987. Her final years were spent in California City, CA as her daughter Linda Evans cared for her.
Evelyn is survived by her five children Kent, Bruce, Scott, Linda Evans, and Alane Clark. Evelyn also had 25 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Her local grandchildren are David and Toni Evans, Brett and Diane Wight, and Marc and Rachel Evans. Evelyn was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as a church organist for 30 years. Evelyn loved music and while her speech was severely impaired after a stroke she could still sing the songs that she had always loved. She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, taking drives, and simply spending time with her family. We are at peace knowing that she is finally with her sweetheart. May their reunion be the sweetest ever. Services will be Monday, June 22nd at 11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints: 747 NE Savage St. Grants Pass, OR 97526. Interment: Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass, Oregon.
