FRED ABELING FUNERAL RITES THIS MORNING
Funeral services were held at eleven o'clock this morning from the Cashmere Presbyterian church for Fred Abeling 74 who died Monday in a Wenatchee hospital. Rev. Max Wills officiated, Mrs. Gene McManus sang with Mrs. Ralph Peterson at the organ. Interment was in the Cashmere cemetery. Mr. Fred Abeling was born July 2, 1880 at Clear Lake, Minnesota and spent his early life there. He worked for the railroad in North Dakota and came to Cashmere in 1906 operating a sawmill on Mission creek. Later he built the Blewett garage in Cashmere which he operated for 27 years and sold in 1945. He then worked for the Chelan County Shops until his retirement five years ago. He was a member of the Cashmere Presbyterian church where he served aa elder for many years he was a member of the Knights of Pythias and served the town of Cashmere aa councilman for over 15 years. Mr. Abeling was also active in the Good Roads Association. Pallbearers were Cecil Lawrence, Will Lawrence, Lloyd Frease, L G Lemm, Elton Barnes and Lewis Dahl. Survivors include his wife Alma: and one son William of Cashmere.
