Willa was the daughter of O.D. and Mildred Eaton.

Willa was the loving wife of William and devoted mother of Colleen and her son Kurt.

She was the sister of Diane (Schiable) and Louella Eaton.

Age 62, loving wife and mother, passed away on Monday October 28, 2002. She was born on August 13, 1940 in Williamston, MI the daughter of O.D. and Mildred Louise (Gaffner) Eaton. Mrs. Manning was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and formerly worked as a Religious Special Education Teacher at St. Patrick's Catholic School. She worked at the Pioneer Insurance Company and was a recipient of a Kidney transplant 10 years ago, eventually passing away from other complications. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Diana Schaible. Surviving - are her husband of 37 years, William "Bill" of Portland; daughter, Colleen Manning of Portland; son, Kurt (Kelly Gilbert) Manning of Lansing; Stepmother, Frances Eaton of Williamston; sisters,
Louella Eaton of Lansing, Carolyn (Gary) Pelton of San Jose, CA, and Fredrica Eaton of San Jose, CA; step-brothers, Wilfred (Patsy) Gaffner and Milo (Pam) Gaffner, all of Williamston; brother-in-law Al Schaible of Lansing; mother-in- law, Gertrude Manning; brothers-in-law, Dick (Janice) Manning and Jack (Laurel) Manning; sisters-in-law, Sharon Jean Wright and Jayne (Michael) Huhn; numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Shaumaun Beas, Associate pastor at 11 AM Thursday, October 31, 2002 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with Rite of Committal following at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at, the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210, E. Bridge Street Portland from 7-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Wednesday. The Rosary will. be prayed at 8 PM Tuesday. There will be Scriptural Wake Services held at 3 and 8 PM Wednesday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Polycystic Kidney Disease, 4901 Main Street, Suite 200, Kansas City, Missouri 64112-2634, in memory of Willa Ruth Manning."
