Willenbring

GARDEN GROVE, Calif -- Funeral services were at 8-30 a.m. today at St. Columban Catholic Church for Linus H. Willenbring, 69, formerly of St. Cloud, who died Sunday at his home. Burial will be in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, Calif.

Arrangements were by Dimon and Son Mettler Mortuary in Garden Grove. Mr. Willenbring was born July 4, 1914 in Farming, Minn., to the late B.J. and Barbara (Backes) Willenbring. He married Tharsilla Weis Nov. 25, 1936, in St. Agnes Catholic Church, Roscoe, Minn., and had been employed by St. Cloud Post Office before moving to California where he was employed as an auditor by the government. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, sons, David and Joel, California, sister and brother, Laura Donaldson, St. Cloud, Minn., Don, Hawaii, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ann Therese, and brother, Alcuin.



Linus built a scale train scene, complete with mountains, bridges, and many different tracks in the family two car garage.
