He was born in Baltimore, Md., on March 13, 1921. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, he entered Eastern College to prepare for the Christian ministry. He earned degrees from there as well as Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Temple University, all in Philadelphia, Pa. He was ordained an American Baptist minister in 1948 and served churches in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Rhode Island and Connecticut. He retired in 1987 but maintained an active ministry, serving as interim pastor and pulpit supply in a number of churches in Rhode Island and Connecticut.
For over 50 years he enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S.A. and much of the world, always with a camera by his side. An avid photographer, his travelogue slide shows for community groups were very popular. He had a love for golf, fine art and classical music.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marjorie; and by a sister, Joan. He is survived by his two daughters, Judith Margerum of P.O.
