Lavina's maiden name was Peebles. Lavina was married first to James Simpson Cherry in Macoupin Co. IL on July 14, 1838. They had two children, Clarinda and Woodford. James Cherry died on November 5, 1847, and Lavina remarried to William Corder on January 23, 1849. William and Lavina had a daughter, Harriett Corder, born April 9, 1850. Lavina died February 2, 1852.
