Edd Borden
SPRUCE PINE -- The funeral for Edd Borden, 99, Route 1, will be at 2 p.m. today at Union Hill Baptist Church in Lawrence County with the Rev. Marce Pounders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery, Spry Funeral Home, Russellville, directing.
The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
He died Tuesday, May 19, 1987, at Rolling Acres Nursing Home, Florence.
A native of Lawrence County, he had lived in Russellville for several years. He was a member of Spruce Pine Baptist Church and had operated a grist mill for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Borden, Spruce Pine; sons, Leon Borden, Florence. Clifton Borden, Dennis Borden, both of Spruce Pine, Loil Borden, Cicero, Ill., Eugene Borden, Olive Branch, Miss.; daughters, Mrs. Ruby Roberts, Spruce Pine, Earline Hamilton, Cicero; brothers, Columbus Borden, Spruce Pine, Lowen Borden, Hatton; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will serve as bearers.
