Honored Citizen of Steele Creek Passes Away After Brief Illness.

Mr. Samuel M. Bigham, one of the best known and most highly esteemed citizens of Steele Creek, passed away last night at 7 o'clock after a serious illness a week or 10 days duration. He was born March 28, 1848, and was therefore almost 66 years of age. He had never married and is survived by two brothers and one sister, namely the Messrs. Joe C. and J. Williamson Bigham and Mrs. F. H. Brown. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of Mr. Joe Bigham, the service being in charge of Rev. J. W. Orr, pastor of Steele Creek Church.

Mr. Bigham was an influential farmer and merchant of the Steele Creek community and was well known and popular throughout the county. He had lived all of his life in the community in which he died and was noted for his kindness and generosity to all alike.
