Collyer -- Clarence Joseph Bollig, 70, died April 5, 2003, at Trego Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney.

He was born April 10, 1932, near St. Peter in Graham County, the son of Jacob and Katherine Niernberger Bollig.

He was a farmer and stockman. He belonged to St. Anthony Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council, both of St. Peter.

On April 28, 1953, he married Loretta Schwarz at Angelus. She died March 5, 1960. On March 3, 1962, he married Agnes Gassman at Grainfield. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Richard, Ellis, and Wayne, Olathe; daughters, Susan Knoll, Washburn, Mo., and JoAnn Bollig, Hays; a brother, William Bollig, Hays; sisters, Frances Holzmeister, Angelus, Josie Heier, Page City, and Louise Dreiling, Arlington Heights, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bernard Bollig, brothers, Alphonse, Edgar, Walter, Albert and Alfred; sisters, Seraphina Scheck, Lorraine Herrman, Ruby Bollig; and an infant sister Seraphina Bollig.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Peter, with Father Donald F. Pfannenstiel, Celebrant; Con-Celebrants, Father Basil Torrez and Father August Moeder presiding. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney, and Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Peter Community Hall, St. Peter, with a wake service following. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Masses or the St. Anthony Church, St. Peter, in care of the funeral home., & a son, Bernard. Burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.
