Owney F. Barlow, 92, 414 E. Eighth St., died in his residence early Saturday morning. He was born in Gallia County, Ohio, and moved to Albany with his parents as a child and spent most of his childhood in the Albany area.

Mr. Barlow was married to Dora Main in 1913. They celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary last June.

The couple had moved to Muncie in 1914 when he started working for the Sterling Cash Grocery on East Main Street, and he later worked for the Union Traction Company of Indiana and Indiana Railroad as a motorman. He operated the next-to-the-last streetcar in Muncie in 1931. He then worked at Kuhner Packing Co., later Marhoefer Packing Co. for 26 years, retiring from there in 1958.

Mr. Barlow served in the Army during World War I, and he was a member of the Shawnee Heights Baptist Church for many years. He was a member of the Knights of the Maccabees Lodge and at one time was an active bowler.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Evelyn (Mrs. Aubrey) Rogers, Muncie; a son, James L. Barlow of Spring Hill, Fla.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be in Meeks Mortuary Chapel at 1 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Earl Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory. Callers will be received at the mortuary 4-8 p.m. Monday or prior to services on Tuesday.
