"Illness Fatal to Walter C. Barnard
Walter C. Barnard, 74, lifelong resident of Portland, died Friday at his home in Culvertown following an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Bandfield Funeral home, in charge of Rev. W.E. Doty, pastor of the Methodist church, burial was made in Portland cemetery.
Mr. Barnard was born on the farm now owned by Frank Fedewa on the Portland-Orange township line. On October 8, 1919, he was united in marriage to Cornelia Hecox, who survives him. There are no children."
