Mary Frances attended the South Marion Friends and Brookhaven Weslyen Churches. Mrs. Achor was a 1934 graduate of Wayne Township High School in Banquo, IN. She was a fifty year plus member of the Pythian Sisters of Indiana, and for Twenty-Five years she was the secretary of the White Rose Temple of Van Buren, IN. Mrs. Achor was a past member of the Grant County Home Extension Clubs. She was also a member of several tour groups and traveled extensively. She enjoyed crafts and jigsaw puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her husband- Earl Achor in 1988, father, Lee Newlin in 1962, mother Myrtle (Underwood) Newlin in 1975, brother, Marion Newlin in 1992, and her nephew, Thomas Lee Newlin in 1963.
