Sid passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday night at his home at the young age of 91.


He had a long career as a film editor in New York and Los Angeles.


Among other distinguished awards, he recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Cinema Editors of which he was very proud. Sid was a loving, giving man who volunteered in the ER at St. John's Hospital and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for many years. Always an outstanding athlete, Sid spent a great deal of time on the golf course where he would often shoot in the 80's.


He leaves behind his loving wife, Jean; children Nancy, Ginny, Peggy, Linda, Jan, Dave; grandchildren Max, August, Amelia; and his beloved dog, Roddy.


Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Hillside Mortuary, 6001 West Centinela Avenue, Culver City.
