Irene was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on September 24, 1920 and grew up with 5 sisters and 4 brothers. She was a 1938 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. Irene married Terry Cowles on January 28, 1940, the date of the groom Dad’s birthday! They had 3 children, Lynda, Terry Mike and Steven. In 1948 Terry’s job required them to relocated to New Mexico.and eventually Albuquerque. Irene and Terry were married 47 years and their home was always filled with warmth, happiness and love. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, sister and aunt.
