Phyllis Lavern Ison was born on June 19, 1929 in Riverton, Sangamon, Illinois to Beryl Theopolis and Lauretta Claris Covell Ison. She had polio when she was younger, so her right leg was shorter than her left. For that defect, she was kind of made fun of. Only her father stuck up for her. Later in life she apparently turned into a tramp, and was outcasted by her family. She married several times, the last time to a man with the last name of Oliver. Phyllis died on November 16, 2004 in Decatur, Macon, Illinois at the age of 75. She was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Decatur on November 19, 2004.
