Bobby Gene Couch, 77, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Fort Worth.

Funeral: 3 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Bob was born Dec. 6, 1931, in Chelsea, Okla. He joined the Navy at the age of 15, later serving two tours in the Korean War. He considered himself a Navy man to the very end.
Bob was a longtime resident of Fort Worth, having settled in the area in 1962. He worked many years for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier before retiring and beginning a new career with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Department. He worked as a bailiff in Criminal District Court #3 and later trained for and became a certified peace officer. He spent eight years with the Sheriff's Department before again retiring, this time for good.

Bob will be remembered as a hard-working, loving and devoted husband, father and brother who valued family and friends above all else.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne Couch; his sister, Evelyn Holland; and his only son, Patrick Couch.
