Michelina J. "Mickey" (De Pompo) Groepper, 83, a long-time resident of Brush Prairie, WA, passed away on June 13, 2009 of natural causes. She was born on June 20, 1925 in Staten Island, NY, one of 11 children. She married Henry E. Groepper in 1942. She retired as a manager for Montgomery Ward in Portland, OR. Mickey was a very active member of the community, and a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Brush Prairie where she volunteered and helped make quilts.

She was a loving and caring person, a great friend, wife, mother, wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by sons, Henry W.C. Groepper of Oregon City, OR, Ernest L. Groepper of Polson, MT; daughter, Jennie M. Joplin of Orcas Island, WA; sisters, Mary Kaup of Paramount, CA and Teresa
Calcutta of Staten Island, NY; two grandchildren, Christopher Groepper and Deanna Whattam; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sat., June 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church, 12919 NE 159th St., Brush Prairie, WA. Private interment at Willamette National Cemetery.
