DEATH OF GRANDMA DUNMAN
Cedar Bayou, Sept 5. - Our friend and neighbor, Grandma Dunman, passed to her Eternal Home on Sept 2. She had been sick for some time and because of her advanced age was unable to withstand effects of the illness. She was the widow of the late John Dunman, one of the pioneer settlers of this section of Texas, having settled near the head of Cedar Bayou in the early days before the Civil War, and had spent a long and useful career in our midst. Interment was at Mont Belvieu (Barbers Hill) in the old Barber family graveyard, she being a sister of Grandma Barber. Grandma Dunman has passed to her reward, a thing that we shall all have to do, although we fear we will not all be blessed with the long and useful life that Grandma Dunman was.Surviving are a son and grand daughter at Cedar Bayou and several relatives at Goose Creek, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy in their bereavement.Taken from Saturday, September 10, 1921, Goose Creek Gasser, Page 4 of 10, Goose Creek, TX.
