Daughter of the late Anton Joseph and Agnes Rose Parizek Semrad, she was the widow of Aubrey Sherman Handley (married August 17, 1946). She was survived by three sons, Terry, Jan and Gary Handley; five granddaughters; two brothers, Gene Semrad and Lawrence Semrad; two sisters, Alice Semrad and Margaret Handley; and an extended family of relatives. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Raymond and Norbert Semrad; and one sister, Irene Hoffman. She was "an accomplished nurse, loving mother and devoted wife. Although she experience many chronic health issues over the last 20 years, she demostrated a strong character and ability to show love, friendship and service to others." Her funeral services were held June 25, 2009.
