Perry had rented housing to William Buskirk and his brother, Isaac of Monroe county, Ind. They had come to this area looking for work. When it came time to settle up on what was owed for housing, a fight broke out between Perry and William. According to William, Perry hit him with a stove stick and William drew a gun, killing Perry.
