Clyde J. Birkes, 54, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 20, 1956, in Webb City, Missouri.

He was born Feb. 1, 1902 at Webb City, Missouri, the son of William M. and Daisy (Decker) Birkes.

He married Rena Lenski in 1929. They had 4 children, Clyde Jr., Blanche, Donald, and James.

He has made his home with his mother for the last several years.

Survivors include his mother, Daisy Birkes of La Harpe, KS; 3 sons, Clyde Jr. on the Coral Sea, Donald, who is stationed in Germany, and James who is stationed in the Panama Canal Zone; one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Kinsley; 2 grandchildren; 5 brothers, Floyd of Flora, IL, Leo and Roy of Wichita, KS, and Richard H. and Walter, both of Seattle WA; and 3 sisters, Myrtle Washbourne of Jay, OK, Thelma Lambert of Medicine Lodge, KS, and Rosalie Gardenhire of McCune, KS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
