"Clayborne Douglass Bearse, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bearse was born at Weaver, Wabash county, Minnesota, March 2, 1908 and departed this life in Foote Hospital at Jackson, Michigan May 16, 1922 at the age of fourteen years, two months and fourteen days. At the age of eighteen days, he came with his parents to Michigan and lived in the city of Jackson two years, from where they moved to their present home.

He was a cheerful disposition, industrious, kind and loved by everybody.

He was a member of the Vantown Sunday School, where he enjoyed going.

His last illness was borne with patience and no complaints.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his father and mother, his brother Orman, and sister Marian besides a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held Friday May 19th at the home. Rev. George Wright of Williamston officiating, assisted by Rev. Helmbol of Millville. Interment was made at Summit Cemetery"
