First married to Chloey Livinia Andrews on 21 Feb 1866 and had 4 children: Wealthy Irene, Anna Mae, Simeon E. and Maude Irene Brown. Chloey Brown died on 2 May 1885. Henry Mack Brown then married my Great Grandmother Viola Jane "Kindred" "Gregory" Brown on 17 June 1886 and had 4 sons: Cyrus, Charles, Martin, and my grandfather Earl Nathan Brown.

Obituary states:

"Henry M. Brown died at his late home in Johnsfield on Friday at ten o'clock A.M. at the age of 61 years. He was born in Lapeer County, where he lived until he enlisted as a private in Company H 4th Regiment in the summer of 1863, serving until the close of the war. He was first married February. 21, 1866 to Miss Cloey L. Andrews who lived until May 22, 1885 when she died leaving besides the deceased four small children. On June 17th 1886 he was again married to Mrs. Jane Gregor. Five years later he moved with his family to his late home in Johnsfield and settled on a new farm almost in the heart of a great forest, without roads and with but few neighbors, yet he lived to see the wild forest turned into fertile farms; to be surrounded by kind neighbors and friends and to help build some of the finest roads we have in the county. He was one of the best-known men in this section of the county, a man who had the respect of all who became well acquainted with him. Deceased had been ailing for a long time with ailments contracted while in the army for which he was drawing a pension, but they were not considered dangerous, and he was only confined to his bed four days when death came to his relief, the result of a complication of diseases. The funeral which was very large was held on Sunday at 1:30 o'clock from his late home and at 2:30 o'clock P.M. from the Standish M. E. church of which he was a very highly respected member, the pastor, Rev. D. H. Campbell officiating, The interment was in the Woodmere cemetery. Deceased leaves to mourn besides a loving wife, seven children."
