OBITUARY
"Elizabeth Luemma Songer Faulkner born Pulaski County, VA, August 9 1838. She was the eldest daughter of James A. and Nancy J. Songer. In 1856 she accompanied her parents on the journey from Virginia to Nebraska where they expected to make their home at Catlettsburg, Kentucky. She married George Faulkner, 14 Oct 1856. They accompanied the family to their new home in Nebraska. Her home was at Falls City, Nebraska until 1879 when she moved with her husband to Kidderville, Kansas, at which place she resided until the death of her husband in 1893. Since that time she has made her home with her children in various parts of Nebraska, Kansas, Illinois, Oklahoma and the Indian Territory.

On Wednesday, June 14, she was operated on in Kansas City. She died Thursday. The remains were brought to Chetopa Thursday and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. L. S. Nance. Saturday the funeral servics were held at the home of Mrs. Vanatta, a sister of the deceased who lived near Fair View Cemetery where interment took place."

She left her mother, 3 sisters, Mrs. Louisa Nance, Mrs. Mary Vanatta and Mrs. Lucretia North all of Chetopa; sons John J. of East St. Louis, MO, Charles W. of Enid, OK, daughters Mrs. R. R. Hanna of Falls City, NE, Mrs. Samuel Grundy of Eskridge, KS and Mrs. W. C. Smith of Eagle. She was operated on in Kansas City for gravel and gall stones, died Thursday morning. Services Saturday and buried Fairview Cemetery, Cherokee County, KS by Rev's J. R. McFadden and Barber and President Elder John MaClean of Ft. Scott."
