Alvin R. Kinkade, 78, a longtime Cashmere and Wenatchee businessman, died suddenly at his home Thursday morning.
He was born Sept 15, 1906, at Pawnee City, Okla., came to Klammath Falls, Ore., and was raised and attended school there. He moved to Seattle in 1931 and married Wilma Moses no Nov. 25, 1936, at Seattle. They moved to Cashmere in 1947 and purchased a laundry here. He also had owned and operated a laundry in Wenatchee until his retirement
Mr. Kinkade was a member of the Wenatchee Elks, No. 1186, and the Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma, at home; two sons, Bob, Snohomish, and Jim, Salt Lake City, Utah; a sister, Geneva Church, Ashland, Ore.; six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Braun Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert J. McGeeney officiating. Earl Barnes was organist. Burial took place in the Cashmere Cemetery with pallbearers; Chet Williams, John Goforth, Ray Cordell, Herman Snelson, Gairel Peart and Steve Moses. Honorary bearers were Alvin Burns and Ray Goetz. Memorials a suggested to the Heart Fund.
The Braun Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
