Musician. He began his career as a doo-wop singer, known as Little Richie Marsh, before reinventing himself as Sky Saxon around 1962. He formed garage-psychedelic quartet The Seeds in 1965, with whom he had several hits including the iconic "Pushin' Too Hard". In the 1970's, he moved to Hawaii with spiritual group The Source Family, with whom he produced many recordings of religious music. In the 80's he returned to a more mainstream musical path, over the subsequent 20 years recording with various bands of his own creation, releasing some very early pre-Seeds material, continuing to produce music from The Source Family and reforming The Seeds several times. In 2008, with the current Seeds line-up, he collaborated on several tracks with Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins and also appeared in the video for The Smashing Pumpkins "Superchrist". He passed away after a short illness; his exact age is unknown though most sources seem to agree that he was around 63 years old.
