Age 81
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully July 9, 1997.
Born June 2, 1916 in Pleasant View, Utah to Karl N. and Katrina Jensen Pedersen. Married his sweetheart, Elaine Simmons March 30, 1935 in Coalville, Utah.
He worked in the Park City mines and in 1941 became an auto mechanic. Jesse operated shops in Park City, Baker, California, and Salt Lake City until he retired in 1980. He was a former chaplain at the Murray Elks Lodge. He enjoyed cards, fishing, games, 'tinker'ing in his garage, restoring bicycles, building wooden toys and other treasures for his family and friends.
Survived by his loving wife, Elaine; son, Karl (Sherolyn) Pedersen; daughter, Katie (Tom) Winn; five granddaughters, three grandsons, and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, eight brothers and two sisters.
Jesse's family wishes to thank his many doctors, nurses and all those who have given so much loving support in his courageous battle with cancer and his recent surgery.
Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 1997 at 1 p.m., Butler 11th Ward, 1825 East 7200 South, where friends may also call from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Murray Heritage Senior Citizens Center, 10 East 6150 South, Murray, Utah 84107.
