Woodson A. Oglesby Is Heart Attack Victim
Woodson Albert Oglesby, 76, passed away at his home at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, March 6, of a heart attack. This was the first death in the immediate family for forty eight years.
Mr. Oglesby was born near Crestwood in Oldham County, the son of William Churchill and Mary Watson Oglesby and spent his whole life in Oldham County. He spent many years in stock trading and trucking. He was a member of LaGrange Methodist Church.
On January 9, 1895 he was married to Miss Jennie Bozarth of LaGrange who survives him with three sons and three daughters as follows: Mrs. Owen Able, Mrs. P. H. Klosterman, Miss Nancy Grey Oglesby, all of LaGrange; Joseph and Francis Oglesby of Louisville and PVt. Owen Oglesby of Camp Lee, Petersburg, VA. Also surviving are six grandchildren, one brother, William Oglesby and three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Long, Misses Sallie and Mattie Oglesby all of Worth.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the LaGrange Methodist Church, in Charge of th Rev. W. R. Johnson, a friend of many years, assisted by the Rev. G. W. Redding of the LaGrange Baptist Church and the Rev. Lloyd F. Moody his pastor. Musical selections included a solo by Mrs. R. L Duncan and a quartette composed of Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Robert urge, Messrs F. S. Cunningham and R. H. Snyder. Interment was in the Valley of Rest. Casket bearers were Messrs. R. P Neal, Ballard Brown, Charles Brown, Joe Head, Willis Overstreet, Ottie Rainey, Sam Riley, Willie Wright.
