Duncan, Mr. Frederick Emanuel, age 81, of Zephyrhills, and formerly of Scott County, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday evening, June 8th, at the University Community Hospital in Tampa, Florida, following a lingering illness. Mr.Duncan was born in the Helenwood Community on March 14th, 1912. He was the son of the late Flem B. Duncan and the late Cassie Lee Duncan. He was preceded also in death by one son-in-law, Edgar Barthel; three sisters, Marjorie Ely, Helen Frazier, and Dorothy Boehmer; two brothers, Frank B. Duncan and Congressman John J. Duncan. Mr.Duncan was plant supervisor at Premier Rubber Company in Dayton, Ohio, from 1935 until 1955, and plant manager and co-owner of the Triangle Rubber Company in Goshen, Indiana, from 1955 until 1976. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Maple Crest County Club, the Holy Name Society of St.John's Catholic Church in Goshen,Indiana, and the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills Florida. He was also involved in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Ruth Mary Mestemaker Duncan of Zephyrhills, Florida; four daughters, Carolyn Barthel of Centerville, Ohio, Janet Moore and husband, Joseph of Tipp City, Ohio, Mary Ann Barr and husband, Joseph of Royal Center, Indiana, and Elizabeth Sproat and husband Kent of Granger, Indiana; two sons, John Duncan of Goshen, Indiana, and Richard Duncan and wife, Ellen of Dayton, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Keck and husband Kenneth of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Robert S. Duncan and wife Marilyn of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Mass for Mr. Frederick Emanuel Duncan will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 12th at St.Jude's Catholic Church in Helenwood with Father Dan Whitman officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Family Cemetery in Huntsville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Saturday morning at the West Murley Funeral Home Chapel. West Murley Funeral Home in Oneida is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mr.Frederick Emanuel Duncan. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Miami Valley Alzheimer's Chapter for Research, 1612 Prosser Ave., Suite 100, Dayton, Ohio 45407
