Kermit Elmore Broome, 88, of Weddington died Sunday (Feb. 15, 1998) at his home.
Funeral is 2 p.m. today at Weddington United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Born May 17, 1909, in Union County, he was the son of the late William Theodore and Mettie Broome. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Short Broome.
Survivors include a son, Basil Broome of Weddington; a daughter, Marlene LeGrand of Weddington; two sisters, Lena Hollowell of Edenton and Mildred Isenhour of Florida; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
