Garr W. Case, 64, former bakery owner of Wabash, died Tuesday morning in a hospital in Lakeland, Fla., after suffering a stroke on Feb. 26 this year.
Mr. Case had been a resident of Wabash for 28 years or more, operating the Case Bakery which stood on the corner of Wabash and Hill Streets where the Sinclair service station is located now.
He was active in the business interests in the city until he left here in 1936 to move to Lakeland where he has been operating the Case Tourist Court. The decedent was a member of the Masonic Lodge here, the Eagles Lodge, the T.P.A. and the Elks Lodge in Wabash. He was the exalted ruler of the local organization in 1932. He was also a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Case was born at Pleasant Lake Nov. 4, 1884 to Lafayette and Zellah (Snyder) Case. He was married in Auburn, March 23, 1905 to Amy C. Strebe.
Survivors include the widow and one daughter, Mrs. Fred M. Bent, Wabash. A brother and sister preceded him in death.
The body is being brought to Wabash for services and burial, and is expected to arrive here early Friday morning and will be take to the Hoover-Miner Funeral Home where friends may call and where services will be held Saturday afternooon at 2 o'clock. Dr. Ware W. Wimberly will have charge and #burial will be in Falls Cemetery.
