Michael was born on February 25, 1954 in Adrian, Michigan, the son of Larry Atwell and Wilma (Grubbs) Boone. Michael served in the Navy. He then worked as a handyman for several years, was a former member of the American Legion Post #85 and a member of the color guard.
Survivors include his companion – Karen Bradley of Huntington; two sons – James (Dorothlee) Atwell of Frankfort, Germany, and William Gilbert of Adrian, Michigan; two daughters – April (Joe) Biavarella of Niles, Ohio, and Joyce (Justin) Ely of Adrian, Michigan; his father – Larry Atwell of Hudson, Michigan; four sisters – Kathy (Chuck) Bogman of Adrian, Michigan, Linda Guinn of Andrews, Brenda (Ed) Hammac of Monroe, Michigan, and Bonnie Henricks of Andrews; one half brother – Benny Boone of Clayton, Michigan; one step sister – Stacy Burns of Hudson, Michigan; two companion sons – Jeff W. Bowers and Gary Lee Bowers both of Huntington; one companion daughter - Amy Lynn Bowers of Huntington and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother.
