He was the father of Evelyn (Rice) Gingerich who later moved to AZ and remarried. Their other children include: Donovan J. and Paul S. Rice.

Note: Phoned the staff at Woodside Cemetery and they couldn't find the interment records for John J. Rice. They passed at almost the same time.

Per 1940 US Fed. Census - he worked as a Punch Press Operator at the Cook Registar Co.
