Charlotte was born about 1834 to Chilon Hayward from Addison County Vermont and Anna Walker from Essex County, New York.
Charlotte's family migrated from Bridport Vermont to LeClaire Township, Scott County Iowa between 1850 and 1852.
Charlotte married Daniel Henry Winney on February 04, 1857 in Pleasant Valley near Davenport, Scott County Iowa.
The young couple lived 1870 in Madison Twp., Poweshiek Co., IA, 1880 Warren Twp., Carroll County, IA and before 1885 were in Midway Borough, Keya Paha, NE.
Daniel and Charlotte had two children, Charles Wellington Winney and Carrie Belle Winney.
Charlotte and her grandson are buried in said to be "Unmarked" graves in "Cub Creek" now named Union Cemetery. It is hoped by the family that grave markers can someday be found.
