Bobby Joe Akers, age 64, of Prestonsburg, husband of Jo Ann Bays Akers, died Saturday, May 21 in the Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg. He was born December 11, 1947 in Floyd Co. a son of the late Thurman Michael and Jeanette Akers. He was a member of the Church of God, where he served on the Ethic Committee, and a retired Post Master.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Barbara Jo Akers, Prestonsburg.
Funeral service for Bobby Joe Akers will be conducted Wednesday, May 25 at 1 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, with Eugene Haney officiating. Burial will follow in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, with the Hall Funeral Home caring for those arrangements.
