DEATH OF MRS. SARAH H. CORNWELL AT BATON ROUGE
Mrs. Sarah Hafner Cornwell, widow of John Calhoun Cornwell, and daughter of the late John A. and Amanda Wallace Hafner, died Friday at her home in Baton Rouge after an illness of several months, and was laid to rest in Calvary Baptist church graveyard, the funeral service being conducted by Rev. E. W. Davis, of Lowry's, Rev. A.M. McLaughlin, pastor of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian church, and Rev. J.H. Yarborough of Chester. A large concourse of friends and neighbors of this splendid woman and the family were present to pay their last respects. Mrs. Cornwell was seventy-six of age and was born and reared five miles southeast of Chester. Early in life she unified with Pleasant Grove Pres. Church and remained a faithful life-long member until her death. She is survived by the following children: Messrs. Clyde, Burris O., and Ira F. Cornwell, and Mrs. W. P. Estes, of Baton Rouge; and Mrs. John B. Cornwell, of Birmingham, Ala. She also leaves a brother, Mrs. George W. Hafner, of Lincolnton, NC.
