Benjamin was the son of Oliver and Ellen Malette Cherrier. He is survived by his wife Ida. They were parents of a son, Pascal of Gloversville New York and a daughter Mrs. Bernice Perry who made her home with her parents in Malone.

Mr. Cherrier spent all of his life in Malone where he followed a painter's trade for over 40 years. He was a good workman and until he was taken ill. He was much sought after for painting and wall papering throughout the area. He was described as a quiet and unassuming man who possessed of sterling character and a keen wit.

On April 22, 1901 he married the former Ida A. Turner. Last year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Cherrier died at Alice Hyde Hospital where he had been a patient for a short time where he was admitted for suffering a severe heart attack.
